Introduction

The holidays are fast approaching, and everybody knows this is an expensive time of the year! Really, though, when you think about it, every time of the year is expensive. Fall is riddled with expenses related to the upcoming holidays, and winterizing things- buying snow tires, getting your snow blower in order, hiring a snow plow. Winter brings costs associated with my favorite hobby- skiing!, further holiday expenses, and high fuel bills. Spring always brings a new wardrobe for me. Summer brings travel expenses, and high electric bills from air conditioning, along with high water bills if you water your grass or garden. While I'm sure not all of these expenses apply to everyone, the point is clear- life is expensive! The cost of living keeps going up, and for many of us, our salary can't seem to keep up!

While I would never advocate living beyond our means, there's many things people can do to live within their means. I routinely hear people say that saving money is a "wild goose chase" or more time consuming than it's worth. I hear people say that it's complicated.

This blog is invented as a way for me to share simple ways money can be saved everyday. It won't pay your mortgage. It may save you a few bucks here and there.
